Everyone dreams of getting out of the city for a while and just relaxing somewhere that you and nature can become one? Sounds cheesy, right? But we all dream of that. With all the city buzz, the traffic and the busy work schedule, you owe it to yourself to have time to relax and unwind.
One of the best ways to do that is to go camping, either with friends, family or even just you and your adventurous mind. However, whenever you think of camping, one thing always stops you – the pain of preparing for everything. And there’s always one dilemma – “What if I forget to pack something really necessary?”
Well, a brilliant mind found an answer to that dilemma over 10 years ago. Hence, the invention of “glamping”. So what makes glamping and camping different?
Here are some important factors that make glamping different (and even better) than just camping.
Camping is never complete without a camping tent (I’m pretty sure it was made for that purpose). And whenever you think of camping, this is the most essential thing in your checklist.
What makes Glamping one step higher than camping is that YOU DON’T NEED TO PACK YOUR TENT ANYMORE.
So what? Are you going to sleep in the midst of nowhere without any tent or any form of shelter? Nope. This is where it gets better.
Glamping resorts have tent-like shelters with frame, that are already installed and put up for you. They come in different shapes and sizes, complete with basic amenities. It’s like you carried your house with you!
Remember the Harry Potter tents during the Quidditch World Cup? Yes! That’s how glamping tents are.
Next Level Sleepover
Another factor to talk about is how you sleep when you are camping versus when you are glamping.
When going camping, you have to think about your sleeping bags, blankets, mosquito nets, mosquito repellants, and whatever helps you sleep at night. That’s a lot of things to pack up, don’t you think?
But when glamping, you don’t need to think about any of that anymore, well, except if you have a blanket that you really can’t sleep without. But glamping tents usually come with full size to queen size beds. They have bedroom units with complete bedroom amenities. And there are even camping tents with transparent overheads that allow you to “sleep under the stars”. How cool is that? You can never do that with simple camping right? Unless you want to get bitten by bugs everywhere.
How You Pee and Go…..
This is a must! It’s a law to talk about bathroom facilities when going camping.
Unless you want to go back to ancient times where the wild is your home and the trees are your toilet, you can never disregard this matter.
Finding an appropriate toilet spot when camping is very tricky, not to mention, can be sometimes dangerous. Sometimes, they are even non-existent in underdeveloped camping sites. So that’s not going to be a very comfortable situation, is it?
But consider having a proper shower and toilet area while enjoying the camping experience? Yes, that is glamping. Glamping resorts have a complete shower and toilet amenities for each glamper. So every time nature calls, you don’t need to go out to nature, literally.
Home Cooked Meals Away from Home
Another huge consideration when going camping is the food. As they say, “Food is Life”. And preparing for meals on a camping expedition can be very tiring and irritating unless you’re a person who loves and has the time to prepare.
When camping, you have to think of all the things that you will need to prepare your food – the utensils, cooking pots, the grills, where to get fire, water supply, your fridge, your coffee maker, your microwave – until you end up packing your entire kitchen.
Glamping solves it all!!! Glamping resorts have all the kitchen amenities you will need. They have mini-fridge, stove, grills, fire pit, coffee maker (yes, because coffee is important), and the basic utensils. All you need to prepare are the ingredients for your menu. That’s one less day of packing and preparing, right?
To add to this, most glamping resorts have a safe water supply for your cooking, so you don’t have to worry about carrying gallons of water for your cooking.
So what makes camping and glamping different? Camping is experiencing nature with so much effort, while glamping is experiencing the camping experience, without the hassle of all the camping preparation.
It’s camping minus all the hassle.
